Manipur tops pool H, enters QF in Natl Championships

Imphal, September 28 2012: Manipur Hockey team has topped Pool H with 9 points and entered Quarter Finals round of the ongoing 2nd Hockey India Men's National Championships 2012 .

In the last league match, Manipur beat Combined University 4-3 to top the pool.

The four goals of Manipur were scored by Jayenta and Gyanendrajit.

Jayenta scored two goals in the 17th and 56th minutes while Gyanendrajit scored two goals in the 20th and 36th minutes.

Manipur got 9 points and won all 9 matches to top the group.

Mention may be made that Manipur team who was training under Corld Cupper Tiken also created another history by qualifying for the National Games after a gap of 12 years.
