State boys clinch Mini National Volleyball title

In a very unpleasing and unexpected incident, spiker Sahil who is in the Manipur mini boys team, was punched on the face by volunteers during the victory celebration of the 26th Mini National Volleyball Championship 2018 organised under the supervision of Volleyball Federation of India at Aizawl, Mizoram today.
Manipur beat hosts Mizoram by 3-2 sets (22-25, 25-20, 25-24, 18-25, 16-14) in a keenly contested final match to win the title of the championship today and the ugly incident took place while the players were celebrating in the court.
He was immediately admitted to Government Civil Hospital, Aizawl.
Secretary of All Manipur Volleyball Association, L Baleshwor who is also an SRC at the championship strongly condemned the unruly act of the volunteers and expressed resentment over the security arrangement provided on the occasion by the organisers.
He further requested Volleyball Federation to review the matter and asked to do the needful.
