2nd Lamlai Cup Convincing wins for YDCL, STPPA-A

Imphal, April 28 2016: YDCL, Pungdongbam and STPPA-A, Sekta earned convincing victories against their respective opponents in the ongoing 2nd Lamlai Kendra Village Wise Men's Open 7-A-Side Football Tournament, organised by the FC Lamlai, today at LSIC play ground, Lamlai.

YDCL, Pungdongbam thrashed Poreiromba, Lamlai by a margin of 7 goals to two.

Ratan hit a treble for YDCL in the 32nd, 42nd and 48th minute while Nganba struck a brace in the 38th and 45th.Gulu and Binod also contributed a goal each for the winning team in the 12th and 16th minute respectively.

On the other hand, Poreiromba witnessed their goals from M Thoithoi and M Herojen in the 7th and 35th minute respectively.

In another match today, STPPA-A, Sekta handed a crushing 6-0 defeat to NSA, Naorem.

The winning goals of STPPA-A were scored by Nongpoknganba (15th, 40th, 46th), Bigyananda (35th, 45th) and Bhim in the 20th minute.

Henry of STPPA-A and M Amocha of NSA were both sent off in the 46th minute while Nongpoknganba (STPPA-A) and M Birjit (NSA) were cautioned.

In the third match of the day, KKYWC, Kanguchengjin and CHYUC, Challou were locked in a 2-2 draw.

Dara and Bikram scored a goal each in the 10th and 45th minute for KKYWC while Manisana's double in the 35th and 40th minute gave two goals to CHYUC.

Bungo and Boicha of CHYUC and KKYWC's Sanajit were yellow carded for unsporting behaviour during the match.

Earlier, Bolero, Sekta were given a walkover after their opponent YDC, Thamnapokpi failed to turn up for the match.
