Sub-Jr Natl Taekwondo Manipur finish second runners up

Imphal, March 26 2018:
Manipur sub-junior team were able to finish second runners up with a total 99 points at the 34th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship and the 8th National Sub -Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship which concluded today at Raja Ram Bikhu Pathare Stadium, Pune.
Uttarakhand with a total of 119 points and Maharashtra with 109 points emerged overall team champions and runners up respectively.
Manipur managed to bag 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal on the last day of the championship and made it 5 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze in total.
Both gold medals were fetched in the Kyorugi events staged today.
K Uttam won the first gold medal in the 38 kg category while Jackson Yensembam clinched the other gold medal in the 45 kg category.
Kh Robert bagged the silver medal in the 41 kg category.
The State teams were led by: N Singhajit Singh and Sh Rojesh as manager and coach for boys Kyorugi team; W Romabati and Y Shantibala Devi as manager and coach for girls Kyorugi team and S Premjit and Sh Rojesh as manager and coach for the Poomsae team.
