11th Manipur State League AIM, NEROCA FC share one goal apiece

Imphal, October 25 2016: In a high octane clash, reigning champions AIM, Khabam played out a 1-1 draw against unbeaten NEROCA FC, Sangakpham today in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League.

With the draw today, NEROCA FC perched on the top spot of the league table while AIM are a point behind the leader.

Both had nine appearances each.

Both sides got off to a cagey start.

AIM striker N Pritam led his men to pressurise the rival defence.

NEROCA FC defenders had hard time resisting the onslaught of their opponents' attack for the first fifteen minutes.

But NEROCA FC gave little away.

The Sangakpham outfits turned the table and surged after N Pritam of AIM was replaced due to injury.

However, none of the two sides could break the deadlock in the first half.

The breakthrough came in the 58th minute as S Subhash of NEROCA FC latched on a fine pass from Ksh Malemnganba.

The Khabam side denied full points to NEROCA FC as W Angousana's header off a long pass from Y Chingkhei found the net of their opponents not long after NEROCA FC opened their account.

Both sides made attempts to make inroads to each others' territories.

However, none could succeed in making any breakthrough.
