Jiribam's Lalpani Govt HS crowned U-15 boys' State Level JN Hockey Tournament champions

Imphal, August 25 2024: Lalpani Government High School of Jiribam district romped 6-0 past TG English School of Bishnupur district to seal the title of 41st Jawaharlal Nehru Sub-Junior Boys (U-15 years) Hockey Tournament organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.

Lalpani Government High School's skipper Maibam Manimatum netted thrice including a penalty corner in the team's big win in the final yesterday.

The first period ended goalless before the Jiribam district team shifted gears in the second quarter and chipped in three goals back to back.

Manimatum opened the scoring by converting a penalty corner in the 1st minute (16') of the second quarter before W Vishal made it 2-0 four minutes later.

Manimatum struck again in the 23rd minute to make it 3-0 at halfway mark before completing his treble in the 37th minute.

Vishal also scored his second in the 39th minute to enter into the fourth quarter with a 5-0 lead before M Boynao scored the decisive goal against their rivals in the 51st minute.
