AIFA set up final date with UBSA in 17th Sena Cup

Imphal, January 25 2018: AIFA , Irengband today defeated DYA 2-0 in the second semi-final match of the 17th Sena Cup to set up final clash with UBSA, Mantak on January 28 .

The district level U-14 boys football tournament is organised by Sena Athletes' Association under the aegis of DSA, Kakching at Kakching Wairi Khunjampat ground.

Yesterday, UBSA thrashed KPSC, Kakching 3-0 in the first semi final match to book their place into the final through the goals of Santoshkumar (3'), Anish (30') and S Sungmunglen (61').In the one sided semi final match staged today, AIFA rode on L Dingku and N Chingkhei to blank DYA.

L Dingku opened the account in the 19th minute of the match and gave his team a 1-0 lead.

DYA also tried to come back into the game but could not bring much change and entered the first half 0-1 .

The second half saw the Irengband side trying to extend the lead with consistent attempts.

Their efforts yielded positive result in the 74th minute when N Chingkhei deftly collected a pass from the midfield and banged in the winner past the custodian after dodging few defenders inside the box.
