State boys cruise into quarter final of 27th Mini National Volleyball

Imphal, April 24 2019: Manipur mini boys team stormed in the quarter final of the 27th Mini National Volleyball Championship 2019 which is currently underway at Kopargaon Shirdi in Maharashtra under the auspices of Volleyball Federation of India since April 21.State boys defeated Gujarat, Jharkhand, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh in the league stage to finish Group A winners and sealed the quarter final spot of the championship participated by 23 boys teams and 22 girls teams.

After beating Gujarat 25-21, 24-26, 25-17, 21-25, 18-16 in the opening match, State boys continued their fine form against Haryana to clinch a 12-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-22 win the next day.

Manipur then defeated Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand in straight sets to ensure their quarter final berth.

It was an easy campaign against Andhra Pradesh as Manipur eased to a 28-26, 25-19, 25-22.Manipur did not face much of an opposition against Jharkhand as they managed 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 win.

Meanwhile, State girls could not make it to the last 8 round as they suffered defeats in the hands of Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

The girls however managed 25-16, 12-25, 25-14, 27-25 win against Uttar Pradesh and 25-15, 25-15, 25-17 win against Jharkhand.
