NEROCA FC stun SSU, clinch fourth CC Meet title

NEROCA FC, Sangakpham today clinched their fourth CC Meet title after defeating SSU, Singjamei by a margin of 3 goals to one in the final.
The closing ceremony of the 59th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2015, organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) was graced by Government of Manipur Consultant Dr RK Nimai Singh, Imphal East DC M Joy Singh, Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Director W Bhaktaraj, Babina Diagnostics Managing Director Dr Th Dhabali Singh and AMFA president P Raghumani Singh as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
In today's final match, a powerful header from Md Shidur Rehman helped SSU take an early lead in the 2nd minute.
NEROCA FC on the other side, did not lose hope and fought back hard till Kh Satish Singh found the equaliser through a defence splitting cross from Ng Ronald in the 20th minute.

NEROCA FC overtook SSU with a 2-1 lead in the additional 45+2 minute after Nigerian striker Emeka Christian headed in the second goal.
After the breather, SSU went on the offensive to comeback into the match.
However, NEROCA FC defenders stood firm and managed to thwart the attempts made by SSU.
In the midst, W Tomba was unlucky as his attempt hit the goal bar.
However a quick move from Imran Khan headed in the rebound ball in the 82nd minute to seal the match 3-1 in favour of NEROCA FC.
The final match witnessed three cautions on SSU - Md Riyas Khan, Md Shidur Rehman and P Christopher Kamei while NEROCA FC witnessed two on Th Johnson and Emeka Christian.
In the prize distribution, the footballer of the year trophy for men went to Imran Khan of NEROCA FC and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 .
Ng Bala Devi (MPSC) was honoured the footballer of the year trophy for women and she was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .
Team champion NEROCA FC were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh along with a rolling trophy while runner-up SSU received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.
NEROCA FC also bagged the fair play trophy and received a cash prize of Rs 5000 .
The best best goalkeeper title went to S Dinakumar Singh of SSU along with a cash prize of Rs 5000 .
NEROCA FC's Imran Khan clinched the best player and man of the final match titles, He received a cash prize of Rs 5000 each.
The top scorer title went to L Gogocha of SSU for eight goals.
Kh Jibon Singh of FC Zalen was named the best defender of the tournament.
He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 along with a rolling trophy.
SSU players P Christopher and Md Shidur Rehman were named best mid fielder and striker respectively while the best young player title went to Chongtham Kishan of NEROCA FC.
The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 each .
Coach of the year award and best referee title respectively went to L Chaoba Devi (AFC-A Licence) and Sh Suresh Singh (Category-3) .
