AIM edge past NACO; easy win for TRAU in CC Meet

Anouba Imagi Managl (AIM), Khabam edged past Nambul Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO), Nambul Mapal by a margin of 2 goals to one while Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel registered an easy 4-0 win against SCL, Churachandpur in the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
In the first match of the day, NACO witnessed an early goal in the 2nd minute of the play when Milankumar scored a goal swifly after collecting the ball that bounced out from AIM's goalkeeper Kh Deven off a powerful strike from NACO's S Rabindra.

The AIM strikers made spirited attempts but failed to find the target and ended the first half with the scoreline reading 1-0 .
After the breather, AIM continued with its attacking modes from the first minute to come back into the match.
The efforts made by AIM paid off when S Piyabung found the equaliser in the 65th minute with his quick moves in collecting the reflected ball from NACO's custodian after he failed to grasp a strike from N Naoba of AIM.
Tied with one goal each, both sides started launching a series of attacks.
In the midst, Lunggoulen Khongsai slammed in the winning goal for AIM in the 75th minute ousting NACO from the tournament.
In the second match of the day, spectators witnessed TRAU dominating the match with better ball possession against the Churachandpur side.
TRAU's Kh Naoton struck his side's opening goal in the 2nd minute to go one up.
Kh Naoton again slotted in his second goal for TRAU in the added time of the first half to take a comfortable 2-0 by the interval.
A late strike in the 83rd minute and the injury-time goal from substitute S Premananda made the final scoreline 4-0 against a hapless SCL, Churachandpur.
