PTCC, YUC, CYCLONE victorious in N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy

Imphal, April 23 2019: PTCC, Patsoi; YUC, Kwakeithel and CYCLONE, Thangmeiband secured wins against their respective rivals at the ongoing 1st MCA Under U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2019 today at Langthabal Public Ground and Heinoupok Ground.

The first match played at Heinoupok saw, PTCC eased to a 70 runs win against Model Club Chingamakha riding on Dominic who shone with both bat and the ball.

PTCC posted 197 runs in the first innings after electing to bat first and Dominic starred with 63-ball 80 while Champion struck 36 runs in 29 balls.

Bryan (17), Viraj (15) and Nikhil (10) also added to the team's tally.

Kelvert of Model Club had two wickets in his name while Susan and Lemnganba managed 1 wickets each before they were bowled out for a paltry 128 runs in 25.5 overs.

Bishorjit put up a good batting effort for Model Club but went out with 32 runs while Kelvert (15), Ishan (13) and Alison (10) also made their names to the scoresheet.

PTCC's Dominic, Nikhil, Arunkumar and Bryan bowled well to share two wickets each while Anish managed 1 wicket.

Dominic was eventually named man of the match.

In the second match staged at Heinoupok, YUC beat TCMDC by 30 runs.

Sanjit top-scored with 47 runs to help YUC post a meagre 93 runs for all wickets in 18.1 overs down after electing to bat first but surged ahead in the second innings as the bowling department were purely exceptional.

Ringku of TCMDC enjoyed a 5 wicket haul while Kalyan and Vivekananda scalped 3 and 2 wickets respectively before a dismal chase that ended at 64 runs in 20.2 overs.

Ringku was the highest scorer with only 14 runs while Arbin made 11 runs before they were all out at 64 runs as Sanjit, Somoraj, Bikash, Kadamjit and Devraj of YUC took 2 wickets each.

Sanjit of YUC was then named man of the match.

Elsewhere at Langthabal Public Ground, CYCLONE chased down 79-run target set by OSCAR in just 13.2 overs and 4 wickets left in the hand.

CYCLONE's Manglemba and Patel picked up 4 wickets to wreak havoc across the batting line up of OSCAR and held the team for 78 all out in 16.1 overs.

Vivek hit the highest 18 runs while Lalu added 15 runs.

Samsung and Ronald of CYCLONE also picked up 1 wickets each in this innings.

The chase was a smooth one as Manglemba gave man of the match performance gathering 32 runs to help his team cruise to 79 runs in 13.2 overs.

Abhishek of OSCAR picked up 3 wickets while Suraj and Lalu had 1 wicket each.

PTRC will meet UCC in the next match at Heinoupok tomorrow.
