Imphal, December 22 2024: W Laksmon picked five wickets to power WYC, Wangkhem to a 40-run victory against TCMDC in a Group B League match of the ongoing 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Put in to bat first, WYC slumped to 103 all out in 26.3 overs as Suraj Kharibam (3/25 in 6.3 overs) and Laishram Valindra (3/20 in 6 overs) ran through their batting line up.

The total however proved too big for TCMDC as ended up gathering only 63 runs in response that ended in 17 overs as Wangkhem Laksmon (5/12 in 6 overs) and Huirongbam Biteshwor (3/9 in 5 overs) shared a bulk of 8 wickets to break the backbone of the TCMDC line up.

For WYC, Priyananda Thokchom 30 and G Mangi 18 were the leading run getters as Suraj Kharibam 24 and Maibam Ashokumar 24 emerged only double digit run getters for TCMDC.

Laksmon who had a brilliant bowling spell was adjudged player of the match.

Meanwhile in a Group A match staged at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, FORCE, Kshetrigao defeated RULE, Meitram by 2 wickets for the third win in five matches.

RULE were able to rack up 149 runs for 10 wickets in 34.5 overs thanks to Jay Singh's fighting 66 off 78 balls and Sanjenbam Ananda's 22 in an innings that saw Mutum Sushil (2/20), Kh Arbin (2/21) and Tashib Alam (2/19) sharing 6 wickets for FORCE.

In reply, FORCE overcame immense pressure from RULE bowlers but fought their way to winning 153 for 8 wickets in 33.5 overs thanks to Naeem's 67-ball 56 and contributions from Sarfaraz 17, Tashib Alam 16 besides 20 extras.

Bishorjit picked five wickets (5/27) for RULE as three others picked a wicket apiece.

Naeem of FORCE was eventually adjudged player of the match.
