Imphal, December 22 2021: Manipur scripted a record 412 run victory against Sikkim for the third win in the fourth match of the ongoing U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2021-22 as Manipur skipper Jotin Pheiroijam knocked his record fifth century and completed a haul of 25 wickets in four matches at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubaneshwar today.

Jotin Pheiroijam who scored two centuries (131 and 178) in the previous tie against Meghalaya to hand Manipur a 125 run victory, carried forward his momentum to punish Sikkim bowlers on Day 3 of the fourth match to score an unbeaten 124 off 104 balls and complete his fifth century of the tournament and second century of the match having scored 127 runs off 117 balls in the first innings.

The day also saw Suresh Singh, who was 10 runs shy from hitting a ton in the first innings, producing a remarkable second-wicket partnership with Jotin Pheiroijam to remain unbeaten on 108 off 185 balls before Manipur declared their innings at 334 runs for 2 in 64.5 overs to give Sikkim a target of 475 runs.

Earlier, RK Herachandra who scored 23 runs on Day 2 picked up the game from where he left today and scored a half century (63 off 79 balls) to further pile up misery on Sikkim.

Sikkim, who bundled out for 187 runs in their first innings, produced yet another dismal performance and slumped to 91 for all wickets down in 29.3 overs today as Manipur's Rojit emerged wrecker-in-chief finishing with a five wicket haul (5/15 off 5.3 overs) and Jotin who had also picked four wickets in the previous innings, claimed four more wickets (4/28 in 10 overs).

Aziz Mirza also took a wicket in this innings sparing 14 runs in his spell of 3 overs.

Manipur will play Nagaland in the fifth and the penultimate match of the tournament on December 27 at Railway Stadium, Bhubaneshwar.
