Sports Minister draws attention to include boxing as priority sports

Attending the virtual launch event of 8 Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) across India from Khuman Lampak, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister of Manipur.
Letpao Haokip has drawn the attention of the Central Government to include boxing as priority sports for KISCE opened in Manipur.

Director of SAI-NERC, Imphal; Bobby Waikhom, Commissioner of Youth Affairs and Sports Department and functionaries of Manipur Olympic Association also attended the launch event.
While appealing to include boxing discipline at the KISCE of the State, the State YAS Minister also drew the attention of the Union Sports Minister to consider the proposal of setting up of 2 mini stadiums each in the 16 districts of Manipur.
He also apprised that as a part of the State's ambitious project to install three football turfs across the State, one at Langjing has been success fully inaugurated by the Chief Minister and handed over to the public recently.
He further stated that the KISCE opened at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex will give a big boost to the State players especially, the athletes of archery, hockey and weightlifting.
