Imphal, October 22 2013: The Kuki Students' Organisation, Imphal (KSO) kickstarted its 2nd Autumn Sports Meet, 2013 .

Football and volleyball will be the events which will go on till October 26.The opening program of the sports meet which was held at Thau Ground, Thangmeiband was graced by Minister of Education, M Okendro as the chief guest, Commissioner Higher Education and NCERT, P Vaiphei as the guest of honour and president of All Tribal Students' Union (ATSUM), Emboi Serto as the functional president.

Representatives of ATSUM, KSO general headquarters, DESAM, KSO Delhi and Zeliangrong Students' Union were also present at the opening ceremony.

Minister of Education, Okendro speaking at the ceremony highlighted that sports can bring all the different communities of the state together as one which helps in bringing peace to the nation.

He therefore encouraged the conduct of such sports activities often.

Donating Rs 20000 to the organizing committee, he invited of any help if needed.

A total of 24 teams including college teams will participate in the sports meet.
