13th Manipur State League : NEROCA FC trounce DM RAO 6-1 to go top, Muvanlai Athletics thump GSC 3-1

NEROCA FC, Sangakpham on Saturday ran riot to notch up a 6-1 win against DM RAO, Sekmai and climb on top of the league table after four matches in the ongoing 13th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association at Artficial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
Earlier in the day, Muvanlai Athletics downed GSC 3-1 to register fourth straight wins and are currently second on 12 points, similar to holders NEROCA FC but lesser on goal count.
Songpu Singsit earned his fourth goal in four matches today to open up Muvanlai Athletics' account in the 19th minute as they team got off to a flying start stinging a series of attempts.
The impetus remained with Muvanlai Athletics as Haolengou Kipgen doubled their advantage in the 36th minute.
GSC continued to struggle as Muvanlai Athletics's forwards worked in tandem to keep their defence line busy.
To their disappointment, Lunginthang Kipgen banged in a fine shot at the stroke of the half time and handed Muvanlai Athletics a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The second half saw Muvanlai rested back and held on to their lead while GSC were seen making all posible moves to open up the account.
For a better portion of the second half, their effort proved too blunt but an injury time chance helped them clinch a face saving goal with Satgouthang K being the scorer.
Elsewhere in the second match and the tournament's 29th , Khangam Horam and A Kinesh produced fine scoring performances to add up two gaols apiece and ensure NEROCA FC a commanding 6-1 victory against DM RAO, Sekmai.
NEROCA FC dominated the game right from the word go but DM RAO put up a brave effort to make it 1-2 till halfway before their condition got worsened in the latter half.
Khangam Horam earned NEROCA FC the lead early in the 9th minute with a fine strike but E Joykison helped DM RAO level the margin in the 13th minute before the Sangakpham side regained the lead in the 28th minute via Y Sonam Chothe.
NEROCA FC continued to enjoy dominance, both in terms of possession and scoring chances, after the restart and their third goal came off an own goal as N Bikramjit made a huge mistake netting into his own net in the 48th minute.
With the huge lead, NEROCA FC were in cruise control and hapless Sekmai side had to see A Kinesh scored the fourth goal for NEROCA FC in the 68th minute.
Khangam Horam then slotted home his second and NEROCA FC's fifth in the 71st minute before A Kinesh too grabbed his second to wrap up the game 6-1 .
