7th 57 Mountain Division Polo Tournament Contrasting victories mark day 4 of tourney

Imphal, February 22 2017:
Con-trasting wins marked day IV of the ongoing 7th 57 Mountain Division Polo Tournament underway at Mapal Kangjei-bung today.
The tournament which began from February 19 saw Imphal Riding Club and Khurai Polo Club notch up huge wins against their rivals while KMM Riding School just about managed to down Meiraba Polo Club.
In the first match of the day, a strong Imphal Riding Club (IRC) thrashed a hapless Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A (CPC-A) 7 nil.
Dominating in every department of the game, the players from IRC scored at will, tearing apart the defence of CPC-A with L Abhinath leading from the front in scoring five goals.
L Abhinath found the target as early as the .10th minute of the first chukker when he easily found the target without much resistance from the players of CPC-A.He followed this up with more goals in the 2.19th minute and 6.55th minute and wound off the first chukker helping IRC take a 3-0 lead.
In the second chukker, L Abhinath was at it again when he scored in the 1.54th minute followed by Leishem-ba T in the 3.04th minute.
H Basanta made it 6-0 in the fourth chukker and L Abhinath was it again in the fifth and final chukker when he scored in the 4.43rd minute and helped his team IRC notch up a convincing 7-0 win.
The second match between KMM Riding School (KMMRC) and Meiraba Polo Club (MPC) was a sharp departure from the first match as MPC fought hard but ultimately went down by 3-6 goals.
KMMRC shot into the lead when they dominated the first chukker pumping in three goals through M Chaoba in the .11th minute and again in the .49th minute with N Anish adding one more in the 2.43rd minute.
In the second chukker MPC put their best foot forward and scored twice through Th Inaotomba in the 3.37th minute and K Romeo in 5.03rd minute but this was not enough as earlier in the same chukker S Jameson had increased the lead for KMMRC in the 3.03rd minute to help his team take a 4-2 goal lead.
M Chaoba of KMMRC was at it again in the fourth chukker pumping in two goals in the 3.58th minute and 7.15th minute while M Devanath pulled one back for MPC in the 1.41st minute of the fourth chukker.
KMMRC ultimately won by a margin of 6 goals to three.
In the third and last match of the day Khurai Polo Club (KPC) overwhelmed Eastern Students Club (ESC) 9-1 .
The nine goals for KPC were scored by N Hovi Achuni (2 goals) L Thomson (2 goals), K Jogendra (2 goals), T Roshan (2 goals) and O Roger.
Th Momocha pulled back one goal for ESC.
