CC Meet 2014 FC Khanglai, UUFC advance

Imphal, December 21 2014:
FC Khanglai, Sadar Hills and UUFC, Ukhrul claimed victories after defeating their respective opponents in the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
In the first match of the day, FC Khanglai outclassed MYC, Moreh by a margin of 7 goals to one.
A treble from Pritam Singh in the 18th, 34th and 55th minute and a brace from Lalminthang Touthang in the 24th and 43rd minute helped FC Khanglai to take a comfortable lead against MYC.

Dominating the match, FC Khanglai witnessed two more goals from Lalsemthang and TK Chon in the 53rd and 79th minute respectively.
The only goal for MYC, Moreh was scored by M Ngamminlan Haokip in the 59th minute.
Langsuanpao of MYC was booked with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour.
In the second match of the day, a brillant save from UUFC's goalkeeper Chingyil Muivah helped his side edge out YPHU by 6-5 on penalties after they were tied 1-1 during normal time.
The match began with both teams looking for a win but poor finishing saw them missing many opportunities.
The opening goal for the UUFC side came in the 55th minute from W Muirang but YPHU came back in the match after N Homorendro slotted home the equaliser in the 80th minute.
With one goal each, both teams could not score further till the final whistle.
In the penalty shootout, UUFC's Rollingson, Ayat, Shomi, Reisangmi Khodang and W Muirang successfully converted their kicks.
On the other hand, YPHU's M Kabiraj Sharma, H Naobi Singh, L Giri Singh and L Abung Singh found the target while H Ramananda Singh failed to beat the UUFC's goalkeeper Chingyik Muivah.
UUFC's Franky and W Muirang and YPHU's AK Ibomcha were yellow carded during the match.
Tomorrow, SSU and FC Zalen will play at 11.30 am while KLASA will meet MPSC at 1.30 pm.
