CC Meet 2014 AIM, NACO beat opponents

AIM Khabam and NACO Nambul Mapal registered marginal wins against their respective opponents in the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football tournament organised by AMFA at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
In the first match, AIM Khabam outplayed JSYC Sadar Hills by a margin of six goals to five on penalties after they were tied 2-2 during normal time.
The Khabam side opened the scoring with a glancing header of H Naoba from close range through a free kick from L Manitomba from near their opponent's penalty area in the 2nd minute.
The equaliser from the Sadar Hills side came when Seineo scored a goal swiftly after collecting the ball that slipped out of the AIM goalkeeper's grasp off a pass from defender L David in the 10th minute.
The two sides made spirited attempts to find the target and forge ahead.
The referee awarded a penalty kick in favour of JSYC when AIM defender N Boiboisana handled the ball in the penalty area in his attempt to stop a marauding Sadar Hills in the 21st minute.

The JSYC led the scoreline 2-1 at the lemon break after Seiboi converted the penalty. The equaliser for the Khabam side came in the 63rd minute when H Piyabung slotted home a goal.
As both sides could not break the deadlock further, penalty kick came into play to determine the winner of the match.
AIM Khabam won the match by a margin of six goals to five after the penalty shootout.
In the second match, DM RAO and NACO played a dull and lifeless game from the first whistle.
DM RAO defender I Sanju's own goal in 87th minute paved the way for his team's exit from the tournament.
Since the DM RAO players could not find the equaliser despite going on the offensive, the match ended with the scoreline 1-0 in favour of NACO Nambul Mapal.
