National Equipped Bench Press C'ship : State Master athletes emerge team champs with 20 medals including 15 gold

Imphal, November 19 2021: Manipur clinched Masters' team title at the National (Men and Women) Sub-Junior, Junior , Senior and Masters Equipped Bench Press Championship 2021 underway at Goa since November 16 amassing a total of 15 gold and 5 silver medals.

Master 1 athlete winning gold medals for Manipur at this championship is Atom Somibala (57 kg category with a lift of 35 kg) while those winning gold medals in the Master 2 categories are Seram Madhumati (47 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), RK Latasana (57 kg category with a lift of 35 kg), Nena Aheibam (84 kg category with a lift of 40 kg), Sagolshem Romita Devi (84+ kg category with a lift of 40 kg) .

Meanwhile, Irom Indrani Devi (47 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), Telem Pramodini (52 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), T Ibemhal Devi (57 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), Waikhom Jamuna (63 kg with a lift of 30 kg), Laishram Sobita Devi (76 kg with a lift of 35 kg), Salam Nena (84 kg with a lift of 40 kg) and HM Ibempishak Devi (+84 kg with a lift of 30 kg) also won gold medal in their weight group of Master 3 category competition.

In the Master 4 category competition, Th Subadani (63 kg with a lift of 30 kg), Kh Chingkhuleima (69 kg with a lift of 30 kg) and Th Kunjarani (76 kg with a lift of 35 kg) bagged gold medals.

In the meantime, those who secured silver medals for Manipur at the said championship are Mutum Ibempishak (Master 2 47 kg category with a lift of 25 kg), Laibi Oinam (Master 2 57 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), Y Mangalsana (Master 2 63 kg category with a lift of 30 kg), L Modhubala (Master 3 84 kg category with a lift of 35 kg) and L Moirangleima (Master 4 69 kg category with a lift of 25 kg) .
