59th CC Meet 2015 ASEB blank FC Zalen, advance to SFs

Imphal, December 18 2015 : ASEB, Assam handed a 2-0 defeat to FC Zalen, Sadar Hills to advance to the semi-finals of the ongoing 59th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2015, organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) .

In today's match played at Mapal Kangjeibung, ASEB took an early lead in the 15th minute after Apurba Phukan found the targeet through a pass from Hemanta Brahma.

The first half ended with ASEB taking a 1-0 lead.

After the breather, the Zalen players did not lose hope and started launching a series of attack.

However, all their attempts went fruitless as ASEB doubled the lead in the 65th minute.

The second winning goal of ASEB came from Bishwanath Karmakar after he converted a free kick from Rahul Das.

FC Zalen's Robert Lunminthang and Kh Jibon Singh and ASEB's Sanatomba Sharma were cautioned for unsporting behaviour during the match.

The first semi-final match will be played between SSU, Singjamei and ARC, Shillong on December 20 while NEROCA FC, Sangakpham will clash with ASEB, Assam in the second semi final match on December 21 at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
