FC Zalen, MPSC register wins

FC Zalen, Sadar Hills and Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) registered wins against their opponents in the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
In the first match of the day, FC Zalen blanked UBSA, Kakching by a margin of 2 goals to nil.
The opening goal for the Zalen side came in the 57th minute from Paolenlal's header following a fine cross from his teammate Seikhohao Tuboi.
On the other hand, UBSA, top division league leader of Kakching district, fought back to come back into the match but all their attempts were thwarted by the Zalen defenders.
Zalen's Seikhohao Tuboi slammed home another goal in the 83rd minute to register a comprehensive 2-0 win against UBSA.
UBSA's Alen (11th), Dineshwar (50th), Beedeenpaar (57th) and James were yellow carded for unsporting behaviour during the match.
In today's second match, a brilliant save from Joseph Vanlal helped MPSC to edge out Manipur Terriers Football Team (MTFT) by a margin of 6 goals to five via sudden death.
The match began with M Somochandra of MPSC opening his side's account in the 56th minute following a fine pass from Golmei but MTFT bounced back when Johnny Gonmei struck home the equaliser in the 66th minute to make the final scoreline 1-1 .
In the penalty shootoout, the police players, Ksh Kanta, P Makulung, L Enil Meitei and K Benjamin converted their shots while MTFT's A Chittaranjan, Achan, L Ibotombi and P Momoi Vaiphei found the target to make the scoreline 4-4 .
In the sudden death, MPSC's Khem Bahadur successfully converted his shot while AB Mairilung of MTFT failed to beat
the MPSC's goalkeeper Joseph Vanlal to lose the match.
