10th Manipur State League USA hold SSU to a goalless draw; YPHU defeat FCZ

Imphal, September 18 2015 : USA, Khurai and SSU, Singjamei were held in a goalless draw in the ongoing 10th Manipur State league sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

At the same time, YPHU handed a crushing 3-2 defeat to FC Zalen.

The tournament is being organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA).

The second match today between FC Zalen and YPHU, Lalambung began with an impressive start.

The organising committee had a tough time controlling the crowd amidst strong pressure from the onlookers.

FC Zalen drew the first blood in the 26th minute with a header from Seikhohao Tuboi through a pass from Helun Haokip.

The energetic YPHU players' efforts to equalise the score-line paid dividends when Rabindra netted a brilliant goal in the 32nd minute.

The first half of the match ended with a 1-1 scoreline.

After the breather, O Ajay of YPHU added another goal in the 57th minute.

Ajay scored another goal in the 67th minute taking a comfortable 3-1 lead.

FC Zalen made undaunted attempts to find the equalisers.

Seikhohao Tuboi scored another goal for Zalen side in the 73rd minute.

Although the Zalen side made sincere attempts to equalise the scoreline, their efforts went futile.

In the match yesterday, NEROCA FC, Sangakpham drubbed MPSC 2-1.Priyokumar of MPSC opened the account in the 15th minute.

The goals for NEROCA FC came through Md Sohail and Rahul in the 53rd and 78th minute respectively.

NISA will play TRUGPU in the first match tomorrow at 1pm while AIM will clash with NACO at 3 pm.
