6th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men's National Championship GAN, MPA, CHD advance with easy wins

Imphal, May 18 2016:
Hockey Gangpur Odisha (GAN), Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPA) and Hockey Chandigarh (CHD) registered easy wins against their respective opponents in the ongoing 6th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men's National Championship (A-Division), organised by Hockey Manipur under the aegis of Hockey India, today at Hockey Ground, Khuman Lampak.
In today's Group-C match, Hockey Gangpur Odisha (GAN) clinched a convincing 16-1 win over Hockey Andhra Pradesh (HAP) .
Sudeep Chirmako was impressive as he struck home five goals in the 7th, 13th, 53rd, 63rd and 65th minute for the winning team.

GAN's Nahas Barwa (34th, 38th, 47th) and Manip Kerketta (4th, 11th, 25th) also scored a treble each.
The other winning goals came from Prakash Dhir (23rd, 29th), Shakti Kujur (8th), Abhijeet Swain (69th) and Ibrahim Toppo (70th) .
The lone goal of HAP came from Hareesh Gurja in the 17th minute.
In another Group-C match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPA) thrashed Delhi Hockey (DEL) by a margin of 6 goals to nil.
The winning goals of MPA were scored by Aniket Varun (25th, 40th), Harshdeep Kapoor (12th), Vivek Sagar Prasad (34th), Himanshu Sanik (47th) and Abdul Ansari Sakib (49th) .
In a Group-D match, Hockey Karnataka (KAR) defeated Hockey Maharashtra (MAH) 5-3 .
Subal Kerkatta (4th), Ghajendra Singh (28th), Vikas Malik (38th), Karthik Kumar (37th) and Deepak Pal (68th) scored a goal each for the winning team.
On the other hand, MAH witnessed their goals through Satyam Nikam (14th), Omkar Adhav (19th) and Venkatesh Kenche (27th) .
In another Group-D match, a brace from Rahul in the 21st and 44th minute helped Sports Authority of India (SAI) hold Hockey Jharkhand (THA) 2-2 .
Asim Tirkey (6th) and Mukesh Kindo (39th) were the scorers of THA.
In the last match Group-B match today, Hockey Chandigarh (CHD) handed a crushing 11-0 defeat to Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu (UTN).
Maninder Singh was the star player of the match as he scored five goals in the 5th, 8th, 25th, 44th and 50th minute.
Sahibjeet Singh (7th, 39th, 54th), Amandeep (64th), Angadbir Singh (67th) and Hashim (47th) were the other scorers of the winning team.
