9th MNCA Elite Tournament : PTRC march on with 121-run thrashing of ESU for 8th straight victory

PTRC, Patsoi Part IV eased to their 8th straight victory in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 as they trounced ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound by 121 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Opting to bat first, PTRC managed a modest total of 271 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs and successfully defended the total by bundling out ESU for 150 runs in 33.4 overs.
Ngariyanbam Johnson smashed 11 fours to anchor with an unbeaten 96 off 101 balls for PTRC as Chingakham Bidash quickfired 43 off 29 balls on the back of 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Salam Richie 33 off 38 balls, Khangembam Santosh 25 off 27 balls and RK Rex 25 off 21 balls also made significant contributions to PTRC's tally.

The first innings saw Lourembam Dipu (2/54 in 8 overs), Chongtham Mehul Shreth (2/29) and Sanatomba (2/45 in 6 overs) of ESU sharing 6 wickets while Thokchom Nishikanta and Surjit picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Sanatomba scored highest 51-ball 53 (6 fours and 1 six) and Sagolshem Ronal Meitei made 32 off 50 balls before their innings fell flat in 33.4 overs with the scoreboard reading 150 .
Notably, PTRC used all the eleven players as bowlers in this innings and Tamarland Pheiroijam (2/29 in 7 overs) and Chingakham Bidash (2/20 in 4 overs) returned with the best bowling figures.
RK Rex, Khangembam Santosh, Bush Sagolshem, Ngariyanbam Johnson and Ngariyanbam Jameson picked a wicket apiece.
Ngariyanbam Johnson, who was 4-run shy from hitting his maiden century in the tournament and picked one wicket, was declared player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai beat CHAMP, Khagempalli by 69 runs for their second win in 7 matches and to distance themselves from relegation threat.
CHAMP won the toss and chose to field first today.
Despite bowlers producing impressive performances, they saw SCCC cruise to a commanding total of 246 runs and ended up gathering 177 runs in the chase to slump to a 69-run loss.
Ulenyai Khwairakpam (45 off 59 balls), Bikash Singh (45 off 34 balls), Khwairakpam Rinju (35 off 43 balls), Basant (35 off 30 balls) and Laishram Ronson (31 off 31 balls) led the batting charge for SCCC in the first innings that saw Chingakham Ranjan (3/57), Md Ahsanul Kabir (3/59) and Md Sultan Karim (2/34) sharing 8 wickets.
For CHAMP, Yumnam Karnajit 45, Nawaz 38 and Sunder Yumnam 29 not out were the leading run getters.
Khaidem Joyraj was the pick of the SCCC bowlers as he finished with the best haul of 4/47 in 8 overs while Moirangthem Thomas (2/26) and Bikash Singh (2/29) shared four wickets.
Bikash Singh who starred with both the bat and ball was eventually adjudged player of the match.
