4th MNCA Superplate Tournament : Naesh Hussain stars in RCA's third straight victory

Naesh Hussain produced an all-round performance to guide RCA, Lilong to third Group A win on the trot in the ongoing 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
RCA posted 193 for all wickets down in the allotted 35 overs at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College playground after electing to bat first and dismissed PCC, Mayaikoibi for 94 runs in 26.5 overs for the 99 run victory.
Naesh Hussain 45 off 36 balls topscored for RCA as Aziz Mirza 26, Syed Hussain 23, Md Imran Khan 22 and Zamir Khan 20 followed suit in the first innings that saw L Chingkheihunba (2/26), Naorem Johnson (2/35) and Longjam Ronald (2/30) sharing 6 wickets for PCC.
In reply, PCC had a stuttering start and slumped to 94 all out in 26.5 overs despite Longjam Gibson trying to anchor with an unbeaten 37 as RCA bowlers made a concerted effort.
Aziz Mirza (2/18), Md Nasirshah Alam Nongjaimayum (2/16), Naesh Hussain (2/10) and Iliyas (2/ 7) all claimed two wickets apiece for RCA.
Naesh, who starred with both the bat and ball, was declared player of the match.
Elsewhere at Mojing Public Ground, TCMDC ended their two game losing streak (Group B) by defeating PSC, Khuyathong by 8 wickets.
Suraj Kharibam was the highlight of the day as he picked 2/14 in 6 overs and topscored with 43-ball 54 not out in the TCMDC chase.
He was eventually adjudged player of the match.
TCMDC opted to field first and managed to restrict PSC to 110/9 in the allotted 33 overs riding on N Arbin (3/17 in 7 overs), Th Nganthoi (2/17) arid Suraj Kharibam (2/14) shared 7 major wickets while two other picked a wicket apiece.
Laishram Devwart 32 and Ibungomacha Hijam 24 were the main run getters for PSC.
Chasing 111 for the win, Suraj hit 11 fours on the way to his unbeaten 54 while Rain Urikhinbam added 32 before he was dismissed for the second wicket at 69 .
Sarangthem Priyobarta 18 not out was alongside Suraj when TCMDC reached the target in 14.5 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.
