62nd Mr Manipur 2024 : Melson Nongmeikapam of Royal Gym clinches Mr Manipur title

Imphal, December 16 2024: Melson Nongmeikapam ofRoyal Gym, Ningomthong was crowned Mr Manipur in the 62nd edition of the prestigious bodybuilding and physique competition organised by the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) in collaboration with the Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) at the auditorium hall of Manipur University, Canchipur yesterday.

Leimajam Nongthang (winner in the 75+ kg category) of Royal Gymnasium, Ningomthong in the meantime sealed the overall junior title as Laishram Okendra clinched the masters overall title.

Royal Gym, Ningomthong also emerged the overall team champions as well as the unit with the highest participants at the event while the coach of the gym, Nongmeikapam Bhupendra was adjudged best coach.

Finishing 1st runners up team were Sangai Gym, Khagempalli who secured 24 points as Icon Gym, Hodam Leirak Maning finished second runners up.

Notably, Thounaojam Ajaysana of Humanity Plus Fitness Center, Uripok (men's 55 kg), Sanasam Lanchenba (men's 60 kg), Phandom Arun of OGT Gym, New Checkon (men's 65 kg), Dhanaraj Gupta of Xtreme-Fitness, Mantripukhri (men's 70 kg), Thokchom Yaisana of Royal Gym, Ningomthong (men's 75 kg) and Leimajam Nongthang of Royal Gymnasium, Ningomthong (75+ kg) emerged winners in the respective weight categories of the junior section.

Winning senior men's bodybuilding titles include Anoubam Sushilkumar of Sangai Gym, Khagempalli (55 kg), Laishram Naresh of Iron Addict Fitness Gym (60 kg), Laishram Neta of United Gym Manipur, Naoremthong (65 kg), Dhanraj Gupta of Xtreme Fitness (70 kg), Keithellakpam Malemnganba of OGT Gym (75 kg), Khumukcham Warren of Royal Gym, Ningomthong (80 kg), Wangkheirakpam Priyobarta of Liantuang Kamei Foundation, Neikalong (85 kg ), Maradona Kshetrimayum of Muscle Factory, Kakching (90 kg) and Melson Nongmeikapam of Royal Gym, Ningomthong (90+ kg).

In the masters bodybuilding events, Laishram Okendro of MPSC (40 to 50 yrs), Longjam Ra-tan of Icon Gym (50-60 yrs) and Laishram Modhu of X-Fitness, Wangkhei (60+ yrs category) secured top honours in their respectively weight categories.

Meanwhile, the women's model physique (open competition) title went to Zenika Naorem of Sangai Gym Khagempalli as Thokchom Sanjeeta of World Gym, Yaiskul bagged the women's bodybuilding title.

In the bodybuilding competition for physically challenged athletes (open), Naorem Jayanta of Royal Fitness Academy, Thoubal bagged the top honour as Linthaongam Longmei of World Gym, Yaiskul sealed the second place.

Oinam Libert of Eagle Guide Gym, Sagolband in the meantime sealed the men's sports physique title of the State level competition as Leimapokpam Abhishek of Muscle Factory, Kakching and Md Fazarul Hussain Epham of 3 Brothers Gym, Kongpal finished second and third.
