Manipur suffers heavy loss in Junior National Badminton

Manipur players have suffered heavy loss at the 37th Junior National Badminton Championships organised by Manipur Badminton Association (MBA) under the aegis of Badminton Association of India (BAI) at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Imphal.
In U-17 Girls Doubles event, the Manipuri pair of M Somibala and N Purnima was defeated by the pair of Vaishnavi & Pooja of Rajasthan in the second round today after they got bye in the first round.
In another doubles event, Manipur's Puuja Kamei and Dhanabati Chanu lost to Revati Devasthal of Maharashtra and Vaishnavi Iyer of Karnataka.
In U-19 Boys Singles event, Y Ajay of Manipur lost to Ravi Khushwal of Madhya Pradesh in the first round.
In another match, Yaiphaba Heikrujam of Manipur also got defeated by Puneet Meena of Rajasthan.

a wild card entry of Manipur lost to Rohan Kapoor of Delhi in the first round.
Devjit RK of Manipur lost to Rahul Yadav of Andhra radesh in the second round after he got bye in the first round.
Another Manipur player I Yaitomba who also got bye in the first round got beaten by Siril Varma of Assam in the second round.
Meanwhile, Unilkumar Leishangthem of Manipur beat Prajapati Suvam of Madhya Pradesh in the first round today only to be defeated by Kynsal M Umlong of Meghalaya in the second round.
Samir Hussain of Manipur who also got bye in the first round lost in the second round to Divum Gupta of Jammu and Kashmir.
In U-17 Girls Singles, M Purnima of Manipur lost in the Pre Quarter round to Reshma Kartik of AI.
Purnima got bye in the first round and walk over in the second round.
In another match, Dhanabati Chanu of Manipur lost in the second round to Ashmita Chaliha of Assam.
Rubasaha Hussain of Manipur also lost in the second round to Arsheen Syed Saadath of Karnataka.
In the sametime, another Manipuri player Somibala also lost in the second round to Rini Tandel of Gujarat.
In Mix Doubles event, RK Devjit and M Somibala of Manipur entered quarter final after a bye in the first round and win in the second round.
However they got ousted from the championships in the quarter final round after suffering a loss to Sankeerth and Devika Ravindra of Karnataka.
