IW JN Hockey Tournament : UNACCO School win U-17 boys and girls' titles, RM School take U-15 boys' title

UNACCO School, Meitram emerged champions of both the Imphal West district level U-17 boys and girls JN Hockey Tournament as Ratankumar Memorial School (RMS), Heinoukhongnembi won the U-15 boys title.
In the U-17 girls competition of the tournament organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Imphal West at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak, UNACCO claimed the top honour with a 3-2 comeback victory over Ratankumar Memorial School, Heinoukhongnembi.

UNACCO opened the account with S Henthoi scoring a field goal in the 13th minute but RMS pulled level at the stroke of the 15th minute through Th Dainail to end the first quarter in a 1-1 draw.
RM overturned the lead in the second quarter with M Rojiya scoring the second goal for the team in the 19th minute but UNACCO made a comeback with Chingkheinganbi W converting a goal in the 21st minute.
N Kamala Devi then helped UNACCO regain the lead in the third quarter scoring in the last minute.
The last quarter saw both sides draw nil and eventually UNACCO came out 3-2 winners.
Meanwhile, the U-17 UNACCO boys team overwhelmed RMS by 9-1 goals courtesy trebles from Rishi Yumnam and Shorenshangbam Boris to lift the top honour.
In the lop-sided encounter, UNACCO lads went up 2-0 in the opening quarter with Ksh Borish (4') and Sorokhaibam Sason (15') finding the RMS net.
UNACCO then took a 6-0 lead after two quarters with goals coming from Rishi Yumnam (17', 19', 27') and Shorenshangbam Boris (24') .
Borish had his second in the 36th minute to make it 7-0 after three quarters before RMS pulled back a goal through Konthoujam Denny Singh in the 52nd minute.
Sh Boris then completed his treble by firing home two goals back to back in the 58th and the 59th minutes and helped UNACCO cruise to a 9-1 victory.
In the U-15 boys competition final, RMS beat UNACCO School 2-0 thanks to goals from Akoijam Rohit Singh (25') and Malemnganba Akoijam (59') .
