State Level Weightlifting Championships begins

Imphal, November 15 2015:
The 18th, 19th and 20th Senior State Level Weightlifting Champion-ships, organised by the Khaidem Leikai Young Development Club (KLYDC), Wangoi began today at Wangoi Mamang Khaidem Leikai.
The opening ceremony of the championships was graced by Wangoi AC Social Worker Kh Loken Singh, PWD Chief Engineer M Lokendro Singh, Manipur Olympic Association secretary Sunil Elangbam and Wangoi AC Social Worker W Shamjai Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In today's 44 kg youth girls' event, Tang Devi (NSA) lifted 101 (46+45) kg to clinch the title while K Ormila Devi (SAI, Utlou) and K Nomita Devi (ACWA) bagged the second and third place titles respectively by lifting 100 kg and 79 kg.
In the 48 kg youth girls' group, P Ganga Devi (KPC) - 148 kg, Quasar (KIMYC) - 113 kg and S Anandi Devi (MHGAU) - 94 kg won the first, second and third positions respectively.
In the 50 kg youth boys' event, Kh Satyamkumar (NGKSA) - 146 kg, N Vicky Meitei (ACWA) - 144 kg, Paoboi Baite (ACWA) - 143 kg won the first, second and third positions.
In the 56 kg youth boys' event, Ch Rishikanta Singh (NSA) claimed the title after he lifted 225 (95+130) kg while L Chinglenmani (SAI-U) - 182 kg and L Bidyasagar (PRSC) - 162 kg bagged the second and third place titles.
In the 62 kg youth boys' group, Y Surchandra (KPC) - 199 kg, S Premananda (GMC) - 165 kg, L Debajit Singh (NSA) - 150 kg won the first, second and third positions respectively.
In the 69 kg youth boys event, L Dinesh (SAI-U) lifted 207 (90+117) kg to clinch the title while Kh Narendra singh (KLYDC) - 189 kg and RK Devadutta (BYC) - 176 kg won the second and third place titles.
Kh Santosh (KLYDC) - 185 kg emerged the champion in the 77 kg youth boys event while O Tondonba (GMC) - 145 kg won the runner up title.
