Kakching 2nd Divn Football Tournament : Manithoi nets four in PFC's 5-1 win over KPSC

Imphal, July 15 2024: Manithoi ran riot to score four goals and inspired Pumlen Football Club (PFC), Tokpaching a commanding 5-1 win over Kakching Popular Sporting Club (KPSC), Kakching in the Group B opening match of the 2nd Division Football League being organised by District Sports Association, Kakching.

PFC got off to a flying start and raced to a 2-0 lead within 16 minutes with H Manithoibi scoring two goals in a span of one minute.

Kh Rahul further extended the lead to 3-0 after 18 minutes before H Manithoi completed his treble in the 22nd minute to make it 4-0 before the break.

PFC continued to look for more goals after the restart and had their fifth goal as Manithoi was at it again after 58th minute before Y Rainson of KPSC scored the consolation goal three minutes into the stoppage time (60+3') .

The day also saw Kadajit Youth Welfare Associated Club (KYWAC), Wabagai play out a goalless draw with Thongjao Union Club (TUC), Thongjao.

KYWAC raced to a slender 1-0 lead after 23 minutes through Gunachandra but L Punshiba cancelled the lead four minutes into the added time of the first half.

The two sides drew nil in the second half despite efforts in the second half to share a point apiece.

Ideal Youth Association (IYA), Kakching will play Kakching Football Club (KFC) in the third Group A match tomorrow from 1 pm before Uyok Chingya Club (UCC), Kakching take on SRDC in the second match of the day and Group A's fourth from 3 pm .
