ZFA condoles demise of Gaihemlung

Imphal, August 14 2020: The Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA) has extended its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members of (L) Gaihemlung @ Hem Phaomei, who expired on 12-08-2020 after a brief illness at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

A condolence programme was held today at its head office, Kakhulong, Imphal by observing 2 minutes silent for the departed soul by the members of the Association.

(L) Gaihemlung Phaomei was an Executive Member of the Association since 1997 till his death.

He was an incredible role model to follow for young soccer players, young professionals, children and even adults.

He inspired countless youths to become successful football players.

His self-sacrifice and contribution made towards the organizing of the "Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament" will be acknowledged in days to come.

"It is very sad and painful to lose a dedicated and active members of our association and his demise has created "a great vacuum that will be hard to fill" .

Nevertheless, he will remain forever in our memory for his good deeds and his contribution", a statement said.
