1st Rani Gaidinliu All India Women's Invitation Football; Railways stun Manipur 1-0 to lift trophy

Railways Sports Promotion Board emerged the champion of the 1st Rani Gaidinliu All India Women's Invitation Football Tournament, organised by the Zeliangrong Sporting Union (ZSU), today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
The closing function of the tournament was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and RD and Panchayati Raj Minister Francis Ngajokpa as chief guest and president respectively while Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker MK Preshaw Shimray, Hills Area Committee vice chairman Z Kikhonbou, TD and Hills parliamentary secretary Victor Keishing, YAS parliamentary secretary M Prithviraj, Tamenglong AC MLA Janghemlung Panmei, Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh and AMFA president P Raghumani Singh attended as guests of honour.

In today's final match, Railways defeated Manipur by a lone goal.
Subha Prabha Raut struck home the lone winning goal in the 45th minute.
S Ranjana and N Ratanbala got opportunities to score for the Manipur team but their attempts went abegging.
Diparnitu Dey of Railways and E Bindyarani of Manipur were booked during the match for unsporting behaviours.
Champions Railways Sports Promotion Board were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a trophy while runners up Manipur received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy.
Odisha bagged the fair play team title along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 .
The best player of the tournament went to A Roni of Manipur.
She was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 and a trophy.
