NISA and TRAU to clash for title at Loktak Trophy

Imphal, December 13 2012: NISA, Thangmeiband and TRAU, Kwakeithel will clash for the title of the 6th Loktak Trophy football tournament on December 16 at Moirang Multi-purpose Higher secondary School ground after the former edged out host AMOFA 5-3 in penalty shoot-out today.

With normal time ending in a 1-1 stalemate after Herojit cancelled out the AMOFA advantage in the 66th minute penalty shoot-out was applied to decide the finalists, which the Thangmeiband side eventually grabbed as Bijen, Peter, Herojit and Ajit succeeded from the spot compared to only John and Sefson Chiru converting for the hosts, for whom Johnson had opened the score in the 43rd minute.

TRAU had reached the final with a win over TRUGPU yesterday.
