CM attends final of Chingtham Anandkumar Memorial Football Tournament

Champ FC beat MPSC 1-0 to win tournament title
Chief Minister N Biren Singh attended the closing ceremony of the 1 st State Level Chingtham Anandakumar Memorial 9-A side Veteran Football Tournament-2024 at SICO ground, Haobam Marak, Lourembam Leikai, Imphal West today.
An exhibition match was played between Integrity FC and Peace FC, followed by the final match between Manipur Police Sports Club and Champ FC.
Champ FC beat MPSC 1-0 in the final through S David's goal in the match's 39 th minute.
Champ FC bagged the title and won prize money of Rs 50,000.MPSC bagged the runner-up trophy and prize money of Rs 30,000 .
MPSC's Kh Rajen Khanganba was named the best player.
Best goalkeeper award was given to Ng Inao of Champ FC.
Best defender award was given to Kh Bonomali of MPSC.
Best midfielder award was given to S Dharamjit of Champ FC.
Kh Manaobi bagged the top scorer award.
Kh Romen of MPSC was named the best striker.
S David of Champ FC was named the man of the final match.
The tournament was organised by YDCCML & Southern Imphal Cultural Organisations (SICO) Club.
At the event, N Biren Singh led others in paying floral tribute to SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar.
Speaking at the closing event, Chief Minister N Biren Singh recalled that late Chingtham Anandakumar was a brave son of the soil who sacrificed his life for the Nation.
SDPO Ch Anandkumar was shot and killed by Kuki militants at Moreh on October 31, 2023.N Biren Singh remembered that Ch Anandkumar was a very sincere and dedicated officer who loved his motherland.
His tenure in Moreh was a testament to his unwavering dedication to serve his State.
The Chief Minister remarked that SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar's exceptional efforts and sacrifice would forever be remembered.
N Biren Singh appreciated the family members and the organising committee for their dedication in hosting the tournament in honour of SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar's memory.
The Chief Minister assured that the Government would extend assistance to the family members of SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar.
During the function, Ch Andry, the eldest son of SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar, presented a football jersey to the Chief Minister as a gesture of appreciation and remembrance.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Forest Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh, Works Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh, MLA Karam Shyam, MLA S Kebi Devi, family members of Chingtham Anandkumar and members of the clubs, among others.
