AMFA lifts impositions from 4 clubs in MSL match fixing issue

Following the recommendations of the one man enquiry commission of the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) to investigate the claims and reports of possible match fixing in the 7th Manipur State League, the governing body of football in the state has lifted the impositions from four clubs namely� AIM, NEROCA, SSU and MPSC.
The enquiry commission constituted with Soram Lokeshwar as one man commission to investigate into the allegations of match fixing in match number 53 and 55 of the 7th Manipur State League played on October 22 and 23 submitted its report along with to the AMFA Executive Council on December 10 .
AMFA Executive Council hold an emergency meeting on December 11 and discussd the report and recommendations.
The commission recommendation quoted that the charge of match fixing to AIM and NEROCA cannot be proved for want of sufficient evidence and the two teams may be exonerated.
It also mentioned that the alleged charges of taking bribe-money from SSU by any of the players or officials of MPSC for fixing th match number 55 cannot be proved as there is no evidence to substantiate the charges.
"No sanction can, therefore, be imposed to the two clubs for bribery issues" it quoted.
It also mentioned that throwing away the game or trying to lose the game on purpose by MPSC by underperformance for convenience of manipulation of results is against the spirit of true sportsmanshi and is liable to check as the AMFA thinks proper.
After discussing the recommendation, AMFA lifted the impositions from the four clubs and resolved to take up measures to prevent such recurrence in future AMFA activities.
