Imphal, September 12 2024: Manipur Hockey registered a convincing 2-0 win over Hockey Himachal in their last Group G match to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 14th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2024 at Jalandhar, Punjab on Thursday.

After a goalless first two quarters, the breakthrough came in the third, with Ningombam Amarjit Singh opening the scoring in the 44th minute.

Just a minute later, Sushil Lisham doubled the lead with a penalty corner conversion, solidifying Manipur's control of the match as they resolutely defended their 2-0 advantage in the final quarter to round off their group stage campaign on a high note.

The win propelled them to the last eight.

Sushil Lisham's performance earned him the player of the match honour.

Manipur will face Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinals on September 16, 2024 .
