32nd Manipur State Taekwondo : UTA retain overall team champions title with 422 points

Imphal, December 11 2019:
Union Taekwondo Academy (UTA), Yumnam Leikai have claimed yet another overall team champions title with a rich haul of 22 gold, 20 silver and 19 bronze medals and 822 points total at the 32nd Manipur State Taekwondo Championship 2019-20 organised under the supervision of All Manipur Taekwondo Association at Indoor Stadium Khuman Lampak since December 8 .

NSA were the closest competitors for the overall title as they finished with 21 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals while Pakhangba Taekwondo Academy (PTA) finished second runners up with a total of 39 medals which include 8 gold, 9 silver and 22 bronze.
PTA emerged sub-junior girls' team champions with a total of 51 points while NSA finished runners up with 44 points.
PTA also claimed the sub-junior boys team title as they managed 93 points while UTA with 53 points sealed the runners up title.
NSA bagged the cadet boys' and girls' team champions title with 90 and 82 points respectively while UTA finished cadet girls' team runners up with 32 points.
Cadet boys' team runners up title on the other hand went to SAI-Utlou which managed 47 points.
UTA with 35 points bagged the junior girls' team champions title while NSA earned the runners up title with 29 points and SAI-Utlou bagged the junior boys team title as NSA sealed the runners up title with 44 points.
UTA which swept gold medals were crowned senior women's team champions with 86 points while SAI-Utlou finished runners up with 10 points.
UTA, Yumnam Leikai also claimed the senior men's team title collecting 100 points while SAI-Utlou finished runners up with 16 points in their names.
The valedictory function of the championship participated by 259 athletes from across 17 taekwondo units, was graced by Y Khemchand, Speaker; Soibam Subhachandra, MLA Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC; Bobby Waikhom, president, All Manipur Taekwondo Association; W Sushil Kumar, Sports Officer, NSA and H Meghachandra, chairman organising committee as dignitaries who also handed out prizes to the podium finishers.
