38th National Games : N Mina clinches fencing gold, Adonis bags MTB silver as Matouleibi, Anita settle for bronze in Judo

State fencer Naorem Mina won a gold as mountain biker Khariksing Adonis Tangpu won a silver and two judokas- Matouleibi and Anita and fencer W Sonia bagged a bronze medal apiece on the 14th day of the ongoing 38th National Games.
With the medals won today, Manipur's tally swells to 43 medals including 13 gold, 13 silver and 17 bronze and remain in the 8th position.
Naorem Mina won the gold medal in the women's individual foil competition as compatriot Sonia settled for the bronze medal.

MTB : Winning a silver medal today was 23 years old Khariksing Adonis Tangpu from Ukhrul as he finished second in the men's XCT event (cross country time trial) competition of the MTB (Mountain Bike) cycling event.
Adonis took 44 minutes 7.348 seconds in the event held at Garutal, Sattal in Uttarakhand this afternoon to seal the 13th silver medal of the State.
Adonis, born to Vareishang Tangpu and Glory Tangpu, had won a silver medal recently in the men's elite XCO event of the 20th National Mountain Biking Championship.
The gold medal of the event went to Services' rider Khushiman Gharti (42:56.221) while his compatriot Kamlesh Rana (44:55.251) bagged the bronze medal.
On getting the first silver medal in the mountain biking event, president of Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) Dr Ng Arunkumar expressed happiness over the performance of Adonis.
"Adonis has produced a better performance than the last edition.
He got a bronze medal in the last National championship in the same event," said Arun.
"Tomorrow, he will be representing Manipur along with Ronel in XCO (Mass Start) and we are hopeful for gold.
He got silver in the same event in the last national championships" .
It may be worth mentioning that two prominent State riders- Khariksing Adonis Tangpu(Ukhrul) and Khundrakpam Ronel Singh (Ningthoukhong) qualified for the first time to take part in an MTB(Mountain Bike) event in the history of the National Games.
JUDO : The day also saw Manipur add two bronze medals courtesy of judokas- Matouleibi and Anita.
Matouleibi competed in the 52 kg category event while Anita competed in the 57 kg category.
WRESTLING : It was however a sad day for wrestlers as Zenistha Noarem went down to Delhi rival in the 62kg freestyle event while Taibanganba M, competing in 67 kg Greco Roman event, also got defeated.
Jemson N will compete in the men's 77 kg Greco Roman competition tomorrow while Luwangchanu Linthoi will feature in the women's 53 kg competition.
