TRAU enter semis in CC Meet 2014

Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) defeated SSB, West Bengal by a margin of 4 goals to two claiming a berth in the semi final of the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
In today's fourth quarter final, a huge number of spectors witnessed TRAU dominating the match with 2 goals in the first half.
SSB managed to net 2 goals in the second half but 2 more goals from Kh Naoton and H Premananda in the dying minutes of the match helped TRAU to register a comfortable 4-2 win against a hapless SSB.

The first goal for TRAU came in the 8th minute from A Herojit through a defence splitting pass from Kh Naoton.
With better ball possession, a powerful strike from TRAU's N Sushil in the 27th minute through a fine cross from S Bhumeshwor helped his side take a comfortable 2-0 lead.
On the other side, the SSB players did not lose hope and fough hard but failed to overcome the TRAU defenders.
After the breather, SSB were awarded for their offensive play in the 68th minute after H Govinda slammed the openining goal for SSB.
Minutes later, TRAU witnessed their third goal in the 72nd minute from Kh Naoton.
With smooth combination from SSB's A Joykumar, H Govinda again struck his second goal in the 76 minute to read the scoreline 3-2 .
The SSB strikers put more pressure on the TRAU defenders with series of attack but failed to find the equaliser due to poor finishing.
The injury time goal from TRAU's H Premananda off a fine pass from N Sushil made the final scoreline 4-2 .
TRAU's L Bikram and TRUGPU's A Joykumar were yellow carded during the match for unsporting behaviour.
The man of the match tile went to SSB's H Govinda.
Tomorrow, ARC, Shillong will clash with TRUGPU, Nambol in the first semi final of the tournament at 1 pm.
