1st STSM Sub-Jr Girls Inter Club Football : ICSA, Irengbam enter semifinal, SSC blank THAU 2-0

Imphal, May 09 2019: ICSA, Irengbam and SSC, Sekta decimated their opponents by displaying class performances in the ongoing 1st Sapam Tombi Singh Memorial Sub-Jr Girls Inter Club Football Tournament organised by All Manipur Football Association at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Three goals from L Bijeiya Chanu and one each by L Shelia Devi and O Babita Devi were the playmakers of ICSA in the one-sided 5-0 win over KRYPHSA, Naoremthong in the first match of the day.

With this win, ICSA Irengbam entered the semifinal as group leader.

L Shelia Devi opened the first account for ICSA in the 11th minute.

In response, KRYPHSA put up some resistance in the next 20 minutes to put all the mounting pressure of ICSA at bay.

However, their defence was broken in the 33rd minute by the in-form L Bijeiya Chanu who successfully gave ICSA its second goal to make it 2-0 at the end of 1st half.

After changeover, L Bijeiya Chanu continued to impress and added another goal in the 47th minute to hand her team a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Joining the party was O Babita Devi who scored a goal in the 60th minute to extend the lead to 4-0.Ten minutes later, L Bijeiya Chanu again scored her third goal to finish the match with a massive 5-0 win over KRYPHSA.

In the second match, SSC, Sekta blanked THAU, Thangmeiband 2-0 riding on Kimdoiting who scored the two winning goals in this thrilling encounter.

Kimdoiting yet again produced stellar performance in the match to hand her team (SSC, Sekta) a comprehensive 2-0 win over THAU.

Both the team started off swiftly and played an evenly contested match for nearly 35 minutes, but SSC, Sekta surged ahead in the 38th minute through Kimdoiting who again struck another goal in the 60th minute.

SSC Sekta will meet ESU Wangkhei tomorrow at 1.45 pm while THAU Thangmeiband will encounter with KRYPHSA Naoremthong at 3.15 pm .
