Imphal, April 08 2012: LMYVA, Lalambung clinched the title of the 19th State Youth Basketball championship by defeating ESU, Wangkhei 53-39 in the summit clash at Nahabam Basketball Court today.

Even though ESU maintained a slender lead of three points (27-24) at the end of second quarter after the opening quarter remained tied (15-15), the Lalambung youngsters clawed back into the game by winning the third session by eight points (40-32) and finished the campaign on a winning note with a comprehensive 53-39 victory.

Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan Singh and Yaiskul AC MLA E Chand graced the prize distribution programme as the chief guest and president respectively.

Yaiskul AC's Ward No 18 Councillor A Nimai Sharma and Ward No 19 were the guests of honour of the Manipur Basketball Association-organised championship's closing ceremony.
