12th MSL : Naocha strike puts TRAU back in title race

Imphal, January 09 2019: A second half goal by Ng Naocha helped TRAU revive title hope of the 12th Manipur State League 2017 being organised under the All Manipur Football Association at Football Turf Ground Khuman Lampak.

TRAU, Kwakeithel which were dropped to losers bracket after a 2-4 loss to Sagolband United in their previous tie bounced back today against DM RAO, Sekrnai to seal a 1 -0 win and remain in hunt.

It was an eventful first half as K Umesh (17') and Shunjanthan (36') of DM RAO were yellow carded by the referee although both teams failed up to find the target.

TRAU shifted gears in the second half and went into the field with more intent and their efforts paid dividend when Ng Naocha beat the DM RAO keeper in the 64th minute.

TRAU continued to keep the pressure on the Sekrnai side for the remainder of the game besides keeping their citadel intact.

Eventually TRAU sealed the game 1 -0 and set up next round berth against Sagolband United.

H Vareiyang of DM RAO was also yellow carded in the 55th minute of the match.
