Imphal, September 08 2011: Onminlal Haokip's 14th minute strike helped Manipur University wrest the title of the A Pratap Singh Memorial Inter College Football Tournament title.

MU defeated DM College of Arts 1-0 in the final match at N Birahari College ground, Khundrakpam.

MU's Thangkhogin Haokip was adjudged the tournament's best player with the top scorer award going to Thongkhosiem Haokip of DMC Arts with a tally of four goals.

State league: MPSC humbled SSU, Singjamei 3-1 in the 6th Manipur State League football tournament at Khuman Lampak Main stadium today.

M Somochandra (7th), I Nilakumar (84th) and Ksh kanta (89th) scored the police goals while kh Naoba (67th) netted the consolation goal for SSU.

College judo: The Manipur university Inter-College Judo (M&W) tournament will be held at Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal on September 20 for which those interested in taking part at the competition have been informed to complete entry formalities within September 15 .

Triathlon trial: In connection with the Sub-junior and Senior National Triathlon and Aquatlon Championship (individual & team event) to be held at Raipur (Chhattisgarh) in November, a trial selection programme will be conducted from 8 am on September 18 at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, informed Triathlon Association of Manipur.

Two passport photos along with documents in support of age and medical fitness should be submitted to the Association secretary within September 15 .
