PAHULASI win three gold in senior men's phunaba ama events

Imphal, February 08 2021: PAHULASI, Mayai Koibi earned three gold medals in phunaba ama events for senior men today as the 31st State Thang-Ta Championship organised by Thang-Ta Shanglen, Yumnam Huidrom entered its second day.

PAHULASI won the medals through P Babi Singh (U-66 kg), M Lamnganba (U-70 kg) and L Somojit Singh (U-75 kg).

Telheiba Asem of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta, Singjamei won the U-46 kg senior men's phunaba ama gold medal before N Bishorjit of Meitei of Enat Thang-Ta Sindamshang, Pangei laid his hands on the gold medal for the U-50 kg event.

31st State Thang-Ta Championship

L Shital Singh of Kangleipak Royal Thang-Ta, Sagolband won the top honour for the U-54 kg event as Ch Abash Singh of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta , Arubam Biju of Malem Apunba Thang-Ta and A Lucky Singh of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta bagged gold medals respectively in the U-58, U-62 and +80 kg events.

In the senior women's phunaba ama events staged today, S Sanatombi (U-44 kg) of Thang-Ta Maheikol; L Sophiya (U-48 kg) of Thang-Ta Maheikol, P Sadhana Devi (U-52 kg) of Malem Apunba Matam, L Rinabai Chanu (U-56 kg) of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta and N Tombi (U-60 kg) of PAHULASI bagged gold medals for their respective units.

Junior Girls: Phunaba Ani events
M Sonaly of All Jiribam Thang-Ta Association fetched the gold medal for U-40 junior girls phunaba ani event today.

Likla Chanu Moirangthem of Thoibi Thang-Ta, Moirang finished second in this category to win a silver medal while N Nancy Devi of PAHULASI bagged the bronze medal.

Chandani Sunar of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang Ta, T Roshita of Kanglei Thang-Ta, K Thaja of Thoibi Thang-Ta, K Merina of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta and S Rojika of Thang-Ta Maheikol were the players who won gold medals in the U-44 kg, U-48 kg, U-52 kg, U-56 kg and U-65 kg categories respectively in the same event.

Junior Boys: Phunaba Ani events
A Jimmy Singh of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta finished first to win gold medal in the U-60 kg junior boys phunaba ani event.

Dijen Shagolshem of Thang-Ta Maheikol on the other hand managed the U-65 kg category gold.

Senior Women: Phunaba Ani
Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta units' A Anjana Chanu (U-44 kg) and A Diana (U-72 kg) bagged the gold medals in the senior women's phunaba ani events staged today.

K Anupama (U-48 kg) of NLPTLK, M Melody (U-56 kg) of Senjam Khunou Thang-Ta Academy, M Kumudini (U-60 kg) of Ibudhou Pakhangba Thang-Ta, L Dulina (U-64 kg) of ANJIKA and L Martian Chanu (U-68 kg) of Luwang Thang-Ta, Khurai also bagged gold medals in their respective weight categories.

Senior Men: Phunaba Ani
H Manganleiba of Thang-Ta Maheikol was able to win the gold medal in the U-46 kg senior men's phunaba anishuba event beating M Omesh Singh of ANJIKA.

Kh Netrajit Singh finished third in this category to win the bronze.

Ch Rishikanta (U-50 kg) of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta; H Nganthoiba (U-54 kg) of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta; A Bunty (U-62 kg) of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta; Tondonba Wahengbam (U-66 kg) of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta; Sh Kenajit Singh (U-66) of Thang-Ta Maheikol; K Bikash (U-75 kg) of Kha Manipur Thang-Ta; S Surchandra (U-80 kg) of Thang-Ta Maheikol and RK Momosana Singh (+80 kg) of Chinga Lairembi Thang-Ta also earned gold medals for the respective units.
