10th Manipur State League 2015 SSU, NACO advance with narrow wins

Imphal, October 07 2015: NACO, Nambul Mapal and YPHU, Lalambung registered narrow wins against their opponents in the ongoing 10th Manipur State League 2015, sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust, today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

In the first match, a lone strike from A Loyangamba through a low cross from A Nanao in the 32nd minute gave the winning goal to NACO against YPHU, Lalambung.

Loyangamba, S Sanjoy and M Hemanta of NACO and S Rahul of YPHU were cautioned during the match for unsporting behaviour.

In another group match, SSU, Singjamei overcame TRAU, Kwakeithel by a margin of 2 goals to one.

The match began with SSU striker L Gogocha slamming home the opening goal in the 36th minute to help his side take a 1-0 lead in the first half.

After the breather, S Ratan slotted in the equaliser for TRAU through a denfence splitting pass from N Momocha in the 58th minute.

With one goal each both sides went on the attacking mode to score the winning goal.

The TRAU players saw all their efforts going in vain after a penalty kick was awarded to SSU after M Meino's hand came in contact with the ball while he was trying to defend a strike from SSU's Thangminthang.

H Dayanada of SSU made no mistake in converting the kick in the 85th minute and helped his side clinch a 2-1 win against TRAU.

TRAU's K Somen Singh was the lone player of the match who was booked with a yellow card.

Tomorrow, NEROCA FC, Sangakpham will take on ZFC, Churachandpur at 12.30 pm while USA, Khurai will play AIM, Khabam at 2.30 pm.
