LIC of India honours Olympian P Sushila

LIC of India has honoured P Sushila Chanu, the lone player of India's women hockey team from Manipur at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, with presentation of cash reward of Rs 10 lakh and a shawl at her residence in Thangmeiband on Tuesday.
According to LIC of India, the cash reward was handed over by its branch manager L Lhouvum in the presence of AO L Luwang and assistant manager Kh Suchitra Devi.
The branch manager in his speech said that the reward was given in recognition of the exemplary and commendable achievement of Indian athletes at the Tokyo Olympics who won medals or missed the podium finishes by the proverbial whisker.
He lauded the performance, of P Sushila and exhorted her to bring more laurels for the countrv while also describing her as the source of motivation and inspiration for others to excel.
It may be mentioned that LIC of India earlier honoured Manipuri sportspersohs who won medals at the Tokyo Olympics with cash rewards.
