Imphal, September 07 2014: Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei was held to a 2-2 draw by Tiddim Road Unique Gammy Player's Union (TRUGPU), Nambol in the ongoing 9th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of MLA Khumukcham Joykishan Singh today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

In a thrilling match played today, SSU's L Deban slammed home from a TRUGPU's keeper Y Surjit rebounce in 12 minutes.

As the match progress, team captain of SSU contributed another goal for the team in 48 minutes extending the lead by 2 goals to nil.

However, TRUGPU fought hard to equalise against SSU but score none in the second half of the match.

TRUGPU's L Ratan brought a hope for the team by scoring a penalty kick in the first minute of the given additional time (2nd half) .

Later, a corner kick from Kh Jacky was converted into goal by T Birjit to equalise the match in the last minute of the additional time (2nd half) .

SSU's L Dewan, TRUGPU's Y Inao and L Ratan were booked yellow cards for foul play.

L Ratan of TRUGPU will miss the next play as he has already booked a yellow card in the previous match played against AIM, Khabam.

In today's another match, Nambul mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO), Nambul mapal overcame United Sports Association (USA), Khurai by a margin of 2 goals to one.

Ch Risk Meitei opened the first goal account for USA in the first 3 minutes after kick off time.

Later, Milankumar Laitongbam of NACO equalised USA by scoring his side's first goal in the end of the additional time (first half) .

As both teams lost their first opening matches, NACO and SSU fought hard against each other to claim victory of today's match.

Newton Konjengbam slammed the winning goal for NACO in 58 minutes of the match.

NACO's P Bikram was booked a yellow card by referee L Priyobratra for unsporting behaviour.
