U-17 Girls Inter District Football Tournament: IWDFA thrash IEDFA

Imphal, April 07 2015 :
In a high goal scoring match in the U-17 Girls Inter District Football Tournament at Artificial Ground, Khuman Lampak Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) overcame Imphal East Football Association (IEDFA) by 6-3 on Tuesday.
In the league match, IWDFA and IEDFA played attacking football.
Both rely on swift counter attacks through their flanks to score their goals.

First half .
Imphal east and west put their best eleventh for the match as both the teams did not have any injury worries to their players.
The highly agile players of both the teams go for hard tackles from the first minute and tried to intimidate their opponents.
In a swift counter attack W Ranjibala, IWDFA, produce a stunner in the 7th min of the match that left IEDFA defenders and custodian clueless.
The stunner of Ranjibala opens the account for IWDFA.
Three minutes later, Kashmina reduced the margin in a similar fashion for Imphal East team.
In the next minute after the goal by Kashmina, N Ratanbala had a chance at the goal of Imphal East from a well measured pass from the midfield.
Ratanbala's effort results in a goal.
The goal hands over the lead to Imphal West.
After the initial exchanges both the teams settles down and protects their territories not lose any fresh grounds.
Suddenly, Ratanbal extends the lead of Imphal West with a low thunderous drive in the 22nd minute.
The goal takes her personal tally to two goals.
Ratanabala lost an opportunity to increase her personal tally when she was brought down by I Anjali Chanu (IEDFA GK) in the striking zone in the 33rd min.
Consequent to the foul the referee pointed to the spot.
Ratanbal's took the penalty but the ball hit the post and bounces back.
Imphal East tried hard to reduce the deficit but Imphal West defended resolutely to withstand the pressure of Imphal East till the breather.
At the breather, Imphal West takes a lead of 3-1 advantage.
Second Half.
After the break, Imphal East team press hard to stay in the match.
The efforts of Imphal East was dusted when Ratanbala shoot at Imphal East goal from a quick exchange between the strikers that produce a goal in the 53rd min to the overwhelming joy of Imphal West supporters.
The goal was the third successive goal of Ratanbala (hat trick) and the goal hurt the hopes of Imphal East badly.
More salt was added to the wounds of Imphal East when Y Hemolata added another goal in the next min (54th min) to deny any chances of Imphal East coming back into the match.
However, Kashmina scored two goals in the 58th min and 63rd min to brought Imphal East into contention.
Premi's third goal placed her alongside Ratanbala.
However, Premi Chanu lapped on the open space left by Imphal East players in pursuit of goals to roam in a goal in the 66th min for Imphal West.
Premi's goal stretched the lead of Imphal West to 6 goals to 3 .
IEDFA kept on chasing the ball as IWDFA players controlled the ball through their mid field and did not give any space to Imphal East.
