CDCC, Al-Ameen triumph as 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament begins

CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai and Al-Ameen, Lilong pulled off victories as the 4th edition of MNCA Superplate Tournament kicked off today.
The tournament features 15 teams clubbed into two groups.
In the Group A opener staged today at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground, CDCC defeated RULE, Meitram by 7 wickets thanks to Khurshid Alam, Fm Sharif who enjoyed four wicket hauls and Md Ataur Rahaman who hit a half century.
CDCC chose wisely to field first and dismissed RULE for 129 runs in 33.2 overs with Khurshid Alam (4/13 in 7 overs) and Fm Sharif (4/22 in 6.2 overs) dismantling the RULE batters with ease.
Jay Singh 33, Rojit Angomcha 17 and Rajkumar Herachandra 16 were the leading run getters for RULE today.
In the chase, CDCC eased to the winning 132 for three wickets in 27.2 overs as Md Ataur Rahaman anchored with a 52-ball 56.Ataur Rahaman found the boundary 8 times (6 fours and 2 sixes) en route to his half century.
Thoudam Monet also added 27 off 28 balls for the winning side as Ksh Robert added an unbeaten 17 off 34 balls in the innings that saw Nongthombam Sarojkumar pick two wickets (2/22) and Nepram Richer (1/8) claim one wicket.
Khurshid Alam who led the CDCC bowling attack was adjudged player of the match.
Meanwhile at Moijing Public Ground, Al-Ameen kicked off Group B competition by defeating PSC, Khuyathong by 47 runs.
PSC won the toss and opted to field first only to see Al-Ameen gather 242 runs for 4 wickets in the allotted 35 overs.
They slumped to 195 in the chase despite Gautam Soubam's 55-ball 63.Md Raeesh Khan shone with the bat for Al-Ameen today scoring 75 off 61 balls as he clobbered 11 fours and 3 sixes while Boboicha smacked 8 fours and 1 six on the way to his 56 in 61 balls.
Md Safwan 34, Khulakpam Shahadat 26 and Md Shamir Khan 24 also made significant scores in the first innings in which Hijam Boba (1/39), Chungkham Kenny (1/38) and Jayananda P (1/43) picked a wicket apiece for PSC.
In reply, Gautam Soubam (63) took PSC past the 100-run mark along with Laimayum Prasanjit 23, Chungkham Kenny 15 before the middle order faltered.
Laishram Devwart 22 and Ningthoujam Sudarson 31 gave a late fightback but Al-Ameen bowlers managed to restrict them to 195 all out in 34.1 overs.
For Al-Ameen, Najarul Islam returned with the best bowling figures of 4/30 in his spell of 7 overs as FM Sakil Aharned fetched three other wickets (3/30) .
Md Karim and Habibullah Ahammed also picked a wicket apiece in this innings.
Al-Ameen's Najarul Islam was eventually declared player of the match.
